I personalise the lessons to cater to your learning style so that you can have the best learning experience. Homework: I believe that you need to take responsibility for your learning. You need to create a daily learning habit to consume as much English as possible and to immerse yourself in it. You can do this by watching English movies, listening to English music and singing along, listening to English podcasts or Youtube videos and speaking as much English as you can, even if it is just to your pet. What the trial lesson will be like: Before your trial lesson: Once you schedule a trial lesson, I'll send you a comprehensive placement test which will show me what your English level is. I would also like to understand your goals, interests, your job and who you are. This will enable me to tailor your lessons specifically to your needs. During your trial lesson: We will discuss which areas you struggle with and which areas you are good at, then develop a lesson plan on how to help you improve your English skills. I will also ask you some questions to explore your goals in more detail. We will then have a short lesson so that you can start learning straight away. Regular lessons: I recommend that you have 3 to 4 lessons a week of 30 to 60 minutes each, to keep English fresh in your mind. I will prepare lesson topics based on the personalised programme we developed in the trial lesson. You are also welcome to choose or suggest the topic or lesson. On Preply there are many learning plans to choose from. Some of the popular plans are the conversation starters, business English and speaking practice. I am available for more intensive lessons, 5 to 7 lessons a week if you want to see quicker and better results. Why choose me as a teacher: I have a passion for teaching people new skills. I'm a native English speaker from South Africa and have travelled to Europe (England and Scotland) and Africa (Tanzania, DRC, and Ghana). This provides me with a unique and mixed take on the English language and cultures, away from the mainstream American and British ways. My teaching style: I am particular, structured (as you can see from my profile), and pay attention to detail. Throughout our lessons, we will identify learning gaps. We will focus on these gaps to ensure that you have a good platform to base your future learning on. A little about me: I am a TEFL certified online English tutor with a Bachelor's Degree in Internal Audit. I worked for a large corporate company for 5 years as an IT Internal Auditor. I also have experience as a Fitness Coach and a Dance Teacher specialising in Latin, Ballroom and Sokkie (a traditional South African dance). Some of my top interests are travelling, different cultures, health, and fitness. My hobbies are running, gardening, and learning languages (French and Italian). I hope you can relate.
